Tita Dessert Plate
The design idea for the Bertie collection was born when Carolina stumbled upon an ancient Apulian fish ceramic dish whilst travelling through the Peloponnese islands in Greece last summer. Dating back to the 4th and 3rd centuries BCE, Apulian pottery is a distinctive style of ceramics produced in the ancient region of Apulia in southern Italy, flourishing whilst the region was heavily influenced by Greek culture. Renowned for their exquisite craftsmanship and vibrant colours, the intricate designs often featured marine life motifs.
Inspired by Carolina’s husband and the girls’ stepfather, Bertrand - more commonly known as Bertie - the collection exudes a masculine charm. With its striking green against a black contrast, the geometric patterns and bold colours evoke memories of family summer holidays spent in the Mediterranean.
